Literature

6th & 7th Grade
Teacher: Mrs. Stacy Chesick

I teach Literature by genre and require each class to read two novels. In sixth grade it is Holes by Louis Sacher, and Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan. The seventh grade is required to read The Outsiders by S.E Hinton and The Devil’s Arithmetic by Jane Yolen. The school also requires each student to earn Accelerated Reading points. The 6th grade needs 9 points a quarter. The 7th grade needs 11 points a quarter and the 8th grade needs 13 points a quarter.
